Ohmni’s batteries will last up to 4-5 hours in a call and around 8-10 hours on standby. If your Ohmni is left powered on and disconnected from the charging dock for over an hour, it will go to sleep to conserve battery; read more here. The batteries charge at about the same rate that they discharge provided the robot is turned off when charging. So if the battery is half full, it will take about 3 hours to get a full charge when turned off on the charging dock.
From a fully discharged battery, Ohmni will take about 15 hours to charge-to-full when it is turned on and on the Dock. (1:3 Rate)
From a fully discharged battery, Ohmni will take about 5-6 hours to charge-to-full when it is turned off and on the Dock. (1:1 Rate)
*Important Note: When external devices are plugged into the Ohmni, expect a longer charging rate when turned on, and overall shorter battery life.
For Ohmni Robots (Generation 12), with the Collision Detection Kit, users can expert shorter battery life, to the range of 3 - 4 hours when in-call and 6-8 while idle*
We recommend leaving Ohmni turned on and docked at its charging station so it will always be ready for your next call. To make this process easier Ohmni has a built-in auto-docking feature, please see “Does Ohmni dock itself?” article here.
